Garden Shed Question and Answer Guide

garage delivery
How far can we deliver?
Over the past few years we’ve had the pleasure of delivering hundreds of garden sheds, portable garages, and gazebos throughout Ottawa and the Valley. Recently with our Belleville location now open for business, we now offer fully assembled deliveries throughout Kingston, Cobourg, Belleville, and the Peterborough area. If you’re interested in whether we can deliver a building to your location, contact us anytime.

Do our buildings need a cement pad foundation?
Most of our structure are portable units able to be placed on any level surface. However, we recommend adding 3-6 inches of gravel under the building to prolong the life of the structure. If you are planning on using one of our portable garages for everyday use with a vehicle, a cement pad is recommended. Local authorities require any permanent garage structure be equipped with a non combustible floor. Visit our garden shed site preparation page for more information on how to preapare your site.
How large of building can we deliver?
We can deliver fully assembled cabins, garden sheds, portable garages, and gazebos up to 14 feet wide by 44 feet long. Almost all deliveries are made possible with our truck and hydraulic trailer, however some may require a special device we call ‘the mule’. The Mule is required if our truck and trailer cannot enter a location due to a septic bed, trees, fences, or simply not enough access room for a truck and trailer. If you are concerned about which method is needed for your delivery, contact us, we’d be happy to walk you through the options and help decide which delivery method is needed for your building.
Can my building be relocated at a later date?
Yes, most of our structures are portable and can be relocated at a later date. Whether you are moving or simply would like to relocate your structure from its current position we are able to do so.  However, in order to properly relocate the structure it must be in the same condition as when it was delivered. Meaning, the structure has not been modified from it original condition. If your building was built on location due to proper access room, relocating the structure is not possible.

How do I know your truck and trailer will be able to deliver a shed, cabin or portable garage in my yard?
This is a good question. Their are a few things you will have to keep in mind when requesting a fully assembled delivery. Firstly, your driveway must be a stone base or free of mud at time of delivery…An area of approximately 2 feet wider then the width of the structure and 14 -15 feet high is require. All turns must be cleared to provide sufficient room for maneuver of the truck and trailer. The site must be clear of all trees, tree limbs, etc. within the access area. Adequate room in front of the structure for the truck and trailer to pull straight out after delivery is required. This distance varies with the length of the building purchased. Approximately 85 feet to 150 feet is recommended. For more info visit our garden shed delivery page.
How much does it cost to build a shed on location?
If we are unable to deliver a building to the desired location on your property an onsite build is required. An extra 25% of the overall prices of the structure is required for this service. This charge is due to us having our building team and supplies be transported to your location. Depending on the size of building, the construction process usually takes from 1 to 7 days.

Do you have any extra options for your sheds and portable garages?
We have many add-on options for all of our structures including cabins and garden sheds. These options include workbenches, lofts, electrical packages, flower boxes, ridge vents, etc. A full list of these options along with their prices can be found via our information website North Country Sheds.com. Can windows and door placement be adjusted to fit my desired look?
Door and window placement on each structure is entirely up to you as the customer. Included in each building are doors and windows that can be either positioned as specified on our website or re-positioned to your preference. This process is included in the base price and should be addressed when placing a custom order.
